Why Knowing the Terminology Matters
If you're playing BandarQQ or DominoQQ in online game rooms, you'll quickly encounter terms that can be confusing to newcomers. Understanding the vocabulary helps you follow the action, communicate with other players, and make better decisions. This glossary covers the most important terms from basic game mechanics to advanced hand names.
Core Game Terms
- Bandar
- The "banker" or dealer role. The Bandar plays against all other players simultaneously and wins in the event of a tie. This role may rotate or be won through bidding.
- Player (Pemain)
- Any participant at the table who is not currently serving as the Bandar.
- Domino / Tile (Kartu)
- The rectangular playing pieces used in BandarQQ and DominoQQ, each divided into two sides bearing 0–6 pips.
- Pip
- The individual dots on a domino tile used to calculate hand values.
- Hand Value (Nilai)
- The score of a player's cards, calculated by summing all pip values and taking only the last digit of the total.
- QQ / Kiu Kiu
- A hand value of 9 — the highest possible score. Also used as a name for the game itself in some regions (Kiu Kiu = "99" in certain dialects).
Hand Types and Rankings
- Balak (Double)
- A domino tile where both sides show the same pip value (e.g., 3-3, 6-6). In DominoQQ, having all four cards as Balak constitutes a special "Straight" hand that beats standard hands.
- Murni Besar (Pure Big)
- A special DominoQQ hand where the total pip count across all four cards is 40 or higher. Beats all standard hands.
- Murni Kecil (Pure Small)
- A special DominoQQ hand where the total pip count across all four cards is 9 or lower. Beats all standard hands.
- Enam Dewa (Six Gods)
- The rarest and most powerful hand in DominoQQ — all four cards have a 6 on one side. Beats every other hand type.
- Straight / Balak Kombinasi
- In DominoQQ, a hand consisting of four double tiles (four Balak). A powerful special hand.
