Introduction to DominoQQ

DominoQQ (also written as Domino QQ or Domino 99) is a widely played online card game across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It uses a set of 28 double-six dominoes and is played by 2 to 6 players. Unlike BandarQQ, there is no dedicated banker — all players compete against each other based on hand strength. Understanding the rules thoroughly is the foundation of playing well.

The Domino Set

DominoQQ uses a standard double-six domino set consisting of 28 tiles. Each tile has two sides, each bearing a number of pips (dots) from 0 to 6. The 28 tiles include every possible combination of two numbers from 0–6. Familiarizing yourself with this set is the first step to mastery.

Objective of the Game

Each player is dealt four domino cards. The objective is to arrange these four cards into two pairs, maximizing the value of each pair. The value of each pair is determined by adding the total pips on the two cards and taking only the last digit of the sum. The highest possible pair value is 9.

Hand Rankings in DominoQQ

Hand values range from 0 (worst) to 9 (best). However, there are four special "pure" hands that beat any standard hand. Listed from highest to lowest:

  1. Six Gods (Enam Dewa): All four cards have six pips on one side. The rarest and strongest hand.
  2. Pure Big (Murni Besar): Total pips across all four cards is 40 or higher.
  3. Pure Small (Murni Kecil): Total pips across all four cards is 9 or lower.
  4. Straight (Balak): All four cards are doubles (e.g., 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4).

If no player has a special hand, the player with the highest combined pair values (first pair + second pair) wins the round.

The Betting Structure

DominoQQ typically follows this betting sequence:

  • Ante: All players post a small mandatory bet to enter the round.
  • First deal: Each player receives three cards. A betting round takes place (check, call, raise, or fold).
  • Fourth card: The final domino card is dealt. A second and final betting round occurs.
  • Showdown: Remaining players reveal their hands. The strongest hand wins the pot.

How to Arrange Your Four Cards

This is a critical skill in DominoQQ. You must split your four cards into two pairs strategically to maximize your total hand value. Consider this example:

  • Cards: 3-4, 2-5, 6-1, 0-6
  • Option A: Pair (3-4 + 2-5) = 14 → value 4; Pair (6-1 + 0-6) = 13 → value 3. Total: 4+3 = 7
  • Option B: Pair (3-4 + 6-1) = 14 → value 4; Pair (2-5 + 0-6) = 13 → value 3. Total: 4+3 = 7
  • Option C: Pair (3-4 + 0-6) = 13 → value 3; Pair (2-5 + 6-1) = 14 → value 4. Total: 3+4 = 7

Always test multiple arrangements to find the combination that gives you the highest possible pair values.
